Your time as an amateur Gladiator is over, you've done the 3 years it takes to make it to the qualifiers. All that remains now is to pick the events and hope the Goddess of War smiles on you for the mandated Beast Ally round. This year like every year a hundred or more hopefuls make their way to the Goddess Arena; a satellite just in orbit where the shows that entertain the worlds take place. Visceral combat, countless deaths, revivals, and glory can be found there. First, you must meet thought the qualifiers and earn the interest of a sponsor. That Sponsor will see to financial funding and work on making your brand when the time comes. For now, Glory awaits.

Hi guys and gals, doing an interest check for an idea I had. As listed above its a gladiator themed pathfinder game set on a future world... but using older style combats for the sake of their TV audiences. If I have the interested parties will go through. This game would focus on the life of a arena gladiator; one part combat, the other part working make a public image and branding. As such it would have some unique rules and the wealth would be reflective of that. Most likely 20 or 25 pt buy. The arena bits would take place on maptools but everything else would be play by post as to allow the indulgence of theatrics. That being said there would be some rules off bat.

-Due to an incident with the first gladiator champion - All full Casters are barred from the arena(anything with a spell list that goes up to 9)
-there will additional skills for background skills
-my standard house rules
-The arena assigns weapons to teams/solo players, meaning players can focus their money on armor and working their reputation.
-Necromancy doesn't exist in the setting... yet.

What would the schedule be like for the Maptool fights? As needed // player availability?

It sounds like a pretty fun concept.

Would the PC's be part of a team or will it be PvP ?

The maptools schedule will be based on player availability and may not be a weekly basis since there will bits to cover in the pbp.

The PCs will be paired up for team matches. PvP may occur if one or more try to climb the duels ladder since that is a 1 v 1 event.

I like the idea. its something pretty unique.

Sweet I'll begin work on the campaign. I'll make a skype group for it as well. Setting might lack a lot of finer detail but I'll have to remember to add it as we go. Most of the prep will focus on the campaign itself.
